Invitations

We should have received the following information from your team by now. Please contact the Invitation Czar at Contact Form.
- The names of everyone who will be attending this year's ale, whether a
team member or a guest, and their ages (if under 18).
- What size t-shirt or tank tops (if any) your team would like to
order. The design and prices are available on our website (see below). We also have a web order form for the
t-shirts if you prefer. Payment for the pre-ordered t-shirts should be
submitted with the ale fees.
- Name who has what food allergies or other food restrictions. We will do
our best to reasonably accommodate these needs and will post a menu with
ingredients list. From that, people can make necessary decisions if they
need to supply their own food.
- Any tour restrictions (e.g., do you need to tour with a particular team
to accommodate cross-dressers?) The tour schedule will be on our website,
although probably not until July.
Ale fees, minus the deposit we already received from you, should be submitted by June 30. As an incentive to you to send your fees by the June 30th deadline, any adult fee received by that time can be reduced to $35 per person. Fees for those under 18 remain the same. Also, please note that while we expect to order some extras, T-shirt availability and cost cannot be guaranteed without a pre-order. Don't miss this t-shirt; the next palindromic year doesn't arrive until 2112!
The cost of the Ale this year is:
- Adults -- If you pay by June 30 (tail wag) -- $35
- Adults -- If you pay after June 30 -- $40
- Children are priced at $2/year of age up to age 17 (e.g., a 5 year old costs $10); 18 years of age and older priced as adults.
All Ale fees, including t-shirt pre-orders, are due by June 30.
Please send the ale fees and t-shirt money as a single team check to:
Karin Howe
Email me if you need an address or phone number.
Please make checks out to the Bassett Street Hounds. Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you at the ale!

T-Shirts Are Available for Pre-Order

We will be selling T-shirts for this year's Ale with a theme surrounding the pallindromic nature of the year 2002. Limited quantities will be available for sale at the the Ale but we are requesting that you pre-order if at all possible. The deadline is June 30 for pre-orders.
Pallindromes

Post-Ale note: Attendees asked about the source of the pallindromic cartoons that Julie Schult plastered all over the Ale site. The palindromes came from a book called "So Many Dynamos" by Jon Agee. He also published "Sit on a Potato Pan, Otis" and "Go Hang a Salami! I'm a Lasagna Hog".
Meals At The Ale

All meals from Friday night's light snack to Sunday lunch are included in the Ale fee. The menus for the weekend will consist of vegetarian (largely ovo-lacto, not vegan) dishes. We have tried to anticipate food allergies and restrictions in menu planning. Look at the menus and make sure that we have addressed your specific need. Let us know your restrictions and we'll make an effort to accommodate you. Be sure that your team's squire reports your food restrictions when submitting the final team roster to the Invitation Czar.
Directions To Ale Campsite

The Ale camp is based, as in past years, at Peter Hoover's farm, just south-west of Trumansburg, NY.
Peter Hoover
5785 Rumsey Rd.
Trumansburg, NY 14886
(607) 387-5171
A Word From Our Host

Peter Hoover is graciously providing almost complete run of his property. We will be camping on his land. We will erect a large tent and will set up tables and chairs for meals and as a place to congregate should there be rain. We have use of a new cooking facility built into Peter's new cider house and will be shifting meal preparation, serving, and whatnot away from the front porch area of the house. Ale participants may use Peter's sauna in evening along with its woodstove-fired shower. We've been informed that the pond is newly dredged to allow for on-site swimming. Such luxury!
However, some restrictions do apply. Peter is asking the following of all Ale participants.
- NO dogs or cats. No exceptions.
- Park along Rumsey Road. Please do not park in or block the driveway. Traffic along this road is very light so we can park along both sides of road in front of Peter's property.
- The interior of the house is off-limits, except kitchen crew, who may require mimimal use the kitchen faciities for food preparation and associated tasks (although the bulk of this will occur at the cider house); and emergencies.
Off Site Accommodations

We have plenty of space on-site, but for the camping-impaired we offer a selection of bed and breakfasts that are within 10 minutes of the campsite. We encourage those who don't wish to camp on-site to make their reservations for these as soon as possible, as the Finger Lakes are a prominent tourist destination in the summertime.
